Zone overrides set in Spectare now work on WordPress

1.9.0

Plugin version

Plugin update only

Change required

Until plugin 1.9.0, zone overrides configured in your Spectare workspace had no effect on WordPress pages. The plugin resolved zones by matching component names against a local lookup table, which meant any per-component override you set in the admin was silently ignored and the fallback name was used instead.

Plugin 1.9.0 fixes this by preferring the zone assignment the server sends with each assembled component. The name map is kept as a fallback for older cached assemblies so nothing breaks on sites that have not yet cleared their cache, but new assemblies will always respect whatever you have configured in Spectare.

This matters most if you have multiple zones on a page and you have been trying to direct specific components into specific positions. Overrides set on a ComparisonTable, an AnnouncementBar, or any other component will now land in the zone you chose rather than the default.

Update to plugin 1.9.0 from your WordPress admin. No template changes are required. Existing zone shortcodes continue to work exactly as before.

This is one atom from the Spectare content library. Spectare assembles the right atoms for each visitor in real time, based on who they are and how they arrived.
